Buddies picnic

Today on the 9th of December 2015 all grade five and sixes with their buddies went on a excursion to Royal Botanic Gardens Victoria. Before we started exploring Botanic Gardens we got a booklet that we had filled during the day.

First we visited the lake. With our buddies we sat near the lake and start filling our sheets. My buddy wrote We could see ducks, trees, plants, a boat and lake. We could hear ducks, birds, water and trees that wind was hitting. We could smell water, grass and different plants. We could feel wind and rough grass. We had also count different animals we could see beside and in the lake. Then we had recess at the lake.

Next we went to the herb garden. In the herb garden we did same things as at the lake. My buddy wrote that first he saw were plants big trees and a lady bug. We could here different voices, we could smell tansy, apple mint, lavender and many other plants. We could feel Mexican bush sage that is a soft, smooth flower.

Then we visited the fern gully we could see many different plants, big tress and a water spring. We could here water and birds on the top of the tall tress. We could smell plants and we could fell water that was coming from the water sprinkler. After we had lunch,we played games with our buddies.

 

 

 

 

 

6 Room Poem Process

Today we did a process to write poem in 6 steps write about colours how does it look. Our goal was “I understand and experiment with some devices and imagery in poetry”.

Room 1 -IMAGE PHOTOGRAPH -Think of something that is amazing or  interesting to you.

Room 2 – LIGHT- Look at the same image but write about the colours how does it ? – light, dark , hazy, shiny.

Room 3 – SOUND – What can you here ? Voices ? Silence ? Movement ? Lonely ? Peaceful ?

Room 4 – Do you have any questions about your image ? What do you want to know more about ? What do you wonder about ?

Room 5 – What are you feelings ?

Room 6 – Look over your previous rooms and ideas and choose a word and repeat it  3 times.

100 WC Week#7

I opened my eyes, I was in a small, dark room. I couldn’t remember how I got there. I wasn’t alone there was someone else. At the back of the room was a girl with a long blond hair. She was shaking. I approached closer but I was scared. She had a black scarf over her mouth and eyes. I removed it. She Looked me in the eyes, she just couldn’t stop crying. I guess because she was too scared. We sat on the floor just thinking how we got there. In few minutes  the door opened and the only thing we saw was brightness…

100wc Week#8

Yesterday our class had an excursion in the zoo for the whole day. Teacher put us in pairs, I was with Joe. Teacher gave us a sheet with questions on it.We don’t really like each others so we didn’t talk a lot.  For a second I turned my back to Joe to see the answer  of one of the questions. When I turned around Joe wasn’t there. I started yelling his name Joe, Joe! But no one responded. I opened the gate at the back of the zoo. I saw Joe sitting on the grass staring at the sculpture.

Scientific lab report

to observe what happen when you connect two different circuits ,to make one circuits.

Hypothesis/prediction:

We think that the brightness from the light will become dimmer,because there is more electricity being used by the two light bulbs.

Materials:

  • 3 light bulbs
  • 3 circuits
  • 3 batteries

Step 1: Set up circuits 1 and 2

Step 2: Turn on circuit 1

Step 3: Turn on circuit 2

Step 4: Observe the brightness of the two different lights

Discussion:

Our group feel that to help with our aim we should have done some research about what type of circuit to create. We think that what circuit we did create effected the end result of the experiment. Afterwards, we did some research on series and parallel circuits to decide that should have done one of those. They look like this:

There are different types of circuits; two circuits that we focused are called series and parallel”. Components that are connected in series are connected along a single path, so the same current flows through all of the components. Components connected in parallel are connected so the same voltage is applied to each component. In other words, If a wire joins the battery to one bulb, to the next bulb, to the next bulb, to the next bulb, then back to the battery, in one continuous loop, the bulbs are said to be in series. If each bulb is wired to the battery in a separate loop, the bulbs are said to be in parallel.

We think that after researching about this we should have maybe done something like the parallel circuit.

Conclusion:
Our experiment was successful because what we thought would happen did happen. The light bulbs on the larger circuit were dimmer than the light bulbs on the normal circuit. This happened because the electricity running through the larger circuit was being used up faster by the light bulbs than the smaller circuit because there is  more wire to get through and more light bulbs to power. Our circuit was a series circuit and our group feel that that effected the result of the experiment and should have set up a parallel circuit to compare them.

BTN “Moon Living”

It’s not easy to build stuff on the moon but it doesn’t mean it’s impossible It’s way too expensive to take material from Earth and bring it on the moon. One kilogram of building material cost $25,ooo and 1 kilogram won’t build much. So only way to build on the moon is to use available stuff on the moon. One thing that moon have plenty is moon dust. Scientists found moon dust mixed with another substance found on the moon, called sulphur can be made bricks. There is another interesting question “How would you gather enough moon dust to make all bricks needed? Scientists come up with a vacuum cleaner that can collect moon dust ready to use. It will be still long time to these things reality.

 

100 WC Week#32

I was walking in a park. It was a beautiful day, until  I saw a stump. I felt strange, maybe because I have never seen a stamp in that park, but when I walked closer there was a Lego toy and a bird. I ran to get the Lego toy, maybe it’s weird but I felt sorry for the toy. When I came back to my house, I put the Lego toy on the table in my room. Next morning the toy wasn’t on the table. I ran to the park, but the   stamp wasn’t there.
